PRESENTATION OF STEPHEN CAMPBELL PAINTING (4 photos)
The Smooth Radio competition to win a bespoke Stephen Campbell painting ran from mid Dec 2013 to the end of Jan 2014. People entered via the Smooth Radio website and had to say in 50 words which scene in the North West they would like Stephen to paint. Thousands of people viewed the site and there were just under 200 entries. The winner was Louise Chambers from Wrexham. Her entry was:
“Chester’s Eastgate clock, but not the view from the street, painted from the walls instead, so it’s close up with everyone walking under it. It was my favourite place to be every weekend as a girl.”
Stephen produced a 16” x 24” oil of the scene worth £1200 and it was presented to her yesterday in the gallery by Rob Buttery from Smooth , Bill Clark and Stephen Campbell. Louise was absolutely delighted with the painting and said, “I haven’t smiled so much since my wedding day.”
