Market day again, the man selling hats for £3 has lots of visitors. The poppy wreaths from memorial day are poking through the snow beneath the model soldier. I had some time between paintings so wanted to do something quick and lively, painting markets is a theme I want to build on, I’m waiting for the opportunity to paint from a first floor window. For the present I am still on the ground. Its not easy painting the market, the first time I wanted to I couldn’t find the right spot, then the next time this one landed right in my lap.
On standing back and looking at a distance the painting came together better than I thought.
